How do I remove a buzzing sound from audio?

Will removing hum change my voice?

Barely. The notch filters are very narrow, and the AI is trained to keep speech. Deep male voices can lose a little warmth at the lowest harmonics; compare before and after to check.

Where the buzz comes from

Electrical hum sits at the mains frequency, 50 Hz in most of the world and 60 Hz in North America, plus its harmonics. It comes from ground loops, unshielded cables, dimmer switches, fluorescent lights and laptop chargers, and it runs under the whole recording.

Because hum is a set of fixed tones, we remove it in two steps: notch filters take out 50/60 Hz and the harmonics above them, then the AI clears the remaining buzz and hiss without touching the voice.
